NORTH READING, Massachusetts (CNN) -- A bit of classic Americana is leaving the United States.

The Chuck Taylor All Star, the legendary high-top shoe from Converse -- the company that put sneakers on the map -- will no longer be "Made in the United States."

The company has filed for bankruptcy, and has arranged for the venerable Chuck Taylor to be made in China.
