MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- The plan for 'N Sync star Lance Bass to travel with the mission to the international space station is back on -- at least for now -- after weeks of squabbling, Russian authorities said Friday.

Bass still has not paid any of the estimated $20 million for his October flight, which includes training at Star City outside of Moscow, the Russian Space Agency said.

But Russian Space Agency spokesman Konstantin Kreidenko said Friday that Russia is "meeting him halfway," and despite what the agency hopes are temporary complications, the mission is going ahead as planned.

Bass had stopped training but will be allowed to resume, Kreidenko said, adding that the three-man crew, which includes Russian cosmonaut Sergei Zalyotin and Belgian Frank de Winne, will travel to Houston, Texas, on August 24 for a week of training in the United States.

Both sides will try to resolve the payment issue this week, he said, but warned: "If there is no money, then he will not fly."

A spokesman for RKK Energia, which built the equipment for the flight, also confirmed Bass' flight is moving forward.

Bass' manager, Cindy Owens, declined to comment on the money dispute.
