NORWALK, California (AP) -- A 20-year-old woman charged along with her former boyfriend in the killings of her uncle and three cousins was found guilty Tuesday of four counts of murder.
Monica Diaz, who was 16 at the time of the slayings, faces life in prison without the possibility of parole at her sentencing March 8.
A Los Angeles County jury convicted Diaz Monday. The verdict remained sealed until Tuesday, so that both sides could be present in court.
Her former boyfriend, Michael Naranjo, pleaded guilty to the murders last year and in his confession claimed Diaz had nothing to do with the killings.
Naranjo, 17 at the time of the murders, was sentenced to four life prison terms without the possibility of parole.
Authorities claim Diaz helped plan the killings and left a door open for Naranjo after the two became angry that her family wouldn't let them go away together for a weekend.
The relatives were slain as they slept. Several family members survived the attack.
