LONDON, England -- Greg Rusedski arrived home in London saying he was "cautiously optimistic" following his doping hearing in Montreal on Monday.
The 30-year-old tested positive for nandrolone at a tournament in Indianapolis last July and faces a two-year ban if found guilty.
"I'm confident and we'll just have to wait and see," said Rusedski, accompanied by his wife Lucy, at Heathrow airport.
"We're cautiously optimistic so we are just hoping for the best."
Rusedski denies knowingly taking performance-enhancing drugs and has linked his case to those of seven players who tested positive last year but were exonerated when an independent inquiry ruled they could have been given nandrolone in supplements distributed by ATP trainers.
"I have no idea when I'm going to hear the verdict. It's anywhere between three to nine days. So all I can do is sit tight at the moment," said Rusedski. "I think things went fairly but we'll have to wait and see."
The ATP tribunal, headed by prominent Montreal lawyer and former UN ambassador Yves Fortier, is expected to take up to two weeks before rendering a decision.
