Explosion targets Spanish hotel

MADRID, Spain (CNN) -- A bomb has exploded at a hotel in Spain after the Basque separatist group ETA warned an organization in the region that the blast would happen, the spokesman for the interior ministry's office in Alicante province told CNN.
The spokesman said there were two injuries -- an elderly man who complained of chest pains and another who complained of a hearing loss. He said the two were treated at the scene.
The blast at the Hotel Port Denia in the Mediterranean tourist resort town of Denia took place at about 3:15 p.m. (1415 GMT), the official said.
About 45 minutes earlier, ETA called in a warning to a Basque emergency road service known by its acronym DYA, which in turn warned the hotel, giving it time to evacuate, the official said.
Other reports in Spain said the warning call went to the Basque newspaper Gara.
ETA has previously made warning calls to either Gara or DYA in advance of attacks.
The group has carried out numerous attacks against tourist sites.
