Actress Janeane Garofalo has officially joined the cast of "Copland," according to the Hollywood Reporter. Sylvester Stallone, Robert DeNiro and Ray Liotta also will star. James Caan also may join the cast.
Richard Dean Anderson is used to playing action roles, and his latest is no exception. The actor will star in the NBC movie "Pandora's Clock." The Los Angeles Times says the actor will play an airline pilot whose plane can't land because a passenger has a deadly virus and no airport will let them touch down. Watch for that thriller next season.
Could "Angels in the Outfield" be in for another inning? Columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith report Caravan Pictures will begin shooting a sequel to the fanciful baseball film in August. A casting call has gone out for look-alikes for famous baseball players of the past for a special sequence.
Actress Sean Young is back at work, this time on "Exception to the Rule," a thriller for Saban Pictures. Shooting is under way in Vancouver, British Columbia. The film also stars Kim Cattrall.
"Waiting to Exhale" is still sitting pretty atop the Billboard home video sales charts this week. It's followed by the "Aristocats," "Babe" and "Pulp Fiction."
"Seven" rules video rentals again this week, according to Billboard magazine. "Waiting to Exhale" holds on to second followed by "The Bridges of Madison Country," "Money Train" and "Braveheart."
"Executive Decision" is tops in international box office sales in the United Kingdom and Sweden. "The Birdcage" is No. 1 in Germany and Brazil. "Primal Fear" is tops in Australia. In Japan, folks are lining up for "Up Close and Personal."
If it's just not enough to be able to buy Vince Gill's albums, now you can catch him in cyberspace. The country music star has launched a site on the World Wide Web at http://www.vincegill.com. His album "High Lonesome Sound" is just out.

Wanna boost sales of your latest album? Just hire the Beatles as backup singers. Carl Perkins' latest LP features all four of the Beatles performing on individual tracks. Paul McCartney has already done his track and Ringo Starr is set to do his. Perkins will record one track in George Harrison's home studio, and Yoko Ono has provided a track of her late husband, John Lennon, doing "Blue Suede Shoes."
