The Academy Awards will have a new venue next year. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will hold the 69th annual Oscar ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium one year earlier than expected. The Los Angeles Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion was unable to accommodate the awards. Oscar night 1997 is March 24.

Jay Leno is ready to lead the parade. The Tonight Show host will be the grand marshal for a parade marking the 100th anniversary of the automobile industry. Leno is an enthusiastic automobile collector. He'll also perform at the American Automobile Centennial dinner.
Actor Andy Griffith reaches a landmark this week when he turns 70. The screen veteran currently is plying his craft as the bad guy in the hit movie "Spy Hard." And his gospel CD, "I Love to Tell the Story," has just gone gold.
In case you were wondering, Celine Dion still dominates Billboard's adult contemporary singles chart with "Because You Loved Me" from the movie "Up Close and Personal." The song has topped the charts for 11 straight weeks.
