LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Courtney Love is being sued by a photographer who claims the rock star-turned-actress kneed her in the groin, pulled her hair and struck
her in the face. Belissa Cohen, a photographer for L.A. Weekly magazine,
seeks unspecified damages in the lawsuit, which stemmed from an
alleged altercation with Love at a fashion show in Los Angeles. Cohen claimed she later heard Love, who is the widow of former Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, tell another journalist: "I just hit Belissa Cohen and it felt so good." Love publicist Heidi Schaffer said she was unaware of the
incident and had not yet seen the lawsuit.

HOLLYWOOD (CNN) -- Reports out of Hollywood claim CBS is close to a deal to make a TV movie that would extend the storyline of "Dr. Quinn, Medicine
Woman." The series was recently dropped by CBS, despite consistently winning its time slot in the ratings. Fans have reportedly inundated CBS with letters demanding it reinstate the show, which stars Jane Seymour. It is not clear whether Seymour has formally agreed to take part in a "Dr. Quinn" TV movie.
NEW YORK (CNN) -- It appears award-winning playwright Terrence McNally's latest play will produced by a New York theater after all. The Manhattan Theatre Club had originally cancelled plans to show "Corpus Christi" -- which depicts a homosexual Christ-like figure -- after it received death threats. The theater, however, announced Thursday it has decided to go ahead with production and show the play this fall, "subject to final confirmation from the police department of adequate security measures." McNally is among Broadway's most prominent playwrights, winning Tonys in recent seasons for "Master Class" and "Love!
Valour! Compassion!" He was also nominated for writing the script of the musical "Ragtime."

Downey's new movie "Two Girls and a Guy" was recently released

LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Robert Downey Jr. will make his first major public appearance this weekend since finishing a six-month jail term. Variety reports Downey will present an award at the MTV Movie Awards, along with Heather Graham, his co-star in the just-released film "Two Girls and a Guy." Downey's performance in that picture has brought him a number of new movie offers. The actor served time at L.A. County Jail for violating his parole on a drug conviction.
