Paralympics Games open in Atlanta

you a close-up look at what the competition is all about.
There are descriptions of each of the 17 medal sports. And

there are over 500 events to keep track of.
Results will be posted as competition is completed.
There's also a history of the Paralympics, which started in
Rome in 1960, and a profile of the Games mascot, Blaze.
Aer-Olympics, too
If you're a flight fan, check out the World Aerobatic
Championship home page.
The 18th annual event gathers top stunt pilots from around
the world. Called the Olympics of the piloting art, the
two-week competition will be showcased on the Web, with
results and pilot profiles.
You can find photos and bios of the 24 international teams of
men and women. A history of the sport of aerobatics includes
detailed information on planes and competitions.
