Y2K countdown could mean nuke reactor shutdowns

YORK COUNTY, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- Safety features in new high-tech nuclear power plants should alleviate public concern about the risk of accidents, right?
Wrong. As reactors across the country scramble to achieve Year 2000 compliance before a mandatory July 1st deadline, the older ones could have the edge in beating the millenium bug, and sustaining their safety monitoring systems when the big day arrives.
Environmental correspondent Natalie Pawelski has more on meltdowns, shutdowns and the big countdown.
