TONY CLARK, CNN CORRESPONDENT: ... and the president-elect have become very good friends over the years. And so the service today designed for staff members, the governor's family and friends. The president-elect trying to get his new administration off on the proper foot. And so starting this first, full day as president-elect with a prayer service -- Daryn.

DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: And Tony, who is it that is filling up those pews, who are people who have been invited by the president- elect?

CLARK: Yes, this is a service that is the designed for both the family, friends, staff members of the president-elect. And it's interesting that this is, at this point, the only public appearance that is scheduled for today. Oftentimes, when he was elected governor, the first two times, George W. Bush held press conferences, talked about the future.

Now it is an administration, prospective administration that starts with a prayer service.

KAGAN: Well, it's hardly been your typical or usual post- election period. Easy to say that, and even I was just going to remark the difference in what the original plan was for the time after President-elect Bush would indeed would have won the election, and I am thinking back to November 7th, where there was that huge fiesta, and those large grand stands built up on the state capitol.

CLARK: You know, Daryn, I got a chance to talk to some of the president-elect's aides after his speech last night, and there was this feeling of almost exhaustion. There was really no feeling of celebration. It was more a sense that it was a time to get down, and get to work. Speaking to his campaign manager, Joe Albaugh, he said, you know, the time that he spent in Florida, and he was there throughout the five-week-long battle over the -- the battle, it was just a very stressful time, and now is a time to kind of rest, reflect, and get ready for an administration that is coming very quickly on the president-elect and his staff.

KAGAN: Tony Clark, in Austin, Texas, looks like that church service is getting under way. We will be dipping in and out of that, showing that to viewers on CNN. Thank you very much, tony.
