Relaxing in the Lap of Luxury at 39th Annual Atlanta Boat Show

Aired January 5, 2001 - 11:56 a.m. ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: And before we say goodbye, one last chance to check in with Leon Harris at the boat show -- Leon.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Hey, Daryn, you know before coming over here from -- after leaving the studios, you know I was a bit skeptical. But I have to admit this is really something to see. I think I've become a boat convert in like the last hour or so. We're over across the street from the CNN studios in the Georgia World Congress Center. And right now, folks, I am sitting in a fiberglass -- I'm sitting on top of a fiberglass hot tub, jacuzzi that is on top of a boat. That's right, this is a jacuzzi on top of a boat. Instead of the boat being in the water, we've got water on the boat.

We've got sights like this all over this room. In fact, Susanne (ph), take a pan around this room. I want to show folks. We talked about what it might look like to see 500 watercraft in one room. This is it. This is amazing. It turns out this 39th Annual Atlanta Boat Show is one of the country's largest indoor boat shows. So, you know, folks are going to come in. You can see folks trickling into the room now and taking a look-see and walking through some of these incredible craft here. The problem is, you can't go out and take a test drive. That's going to be a bit of a problem.

But this has been something to see. And I've got to admit, like I said, they made me come. But the boat that we're on right now has got something like three or four queen size beds in it, it's got, you know, its own big-screen TV, stereo system, global positioning satellite system, if you will. Even Direct TV on top of this thing. It's incredible. It's almost like never leaving home. It's like a floating condo. And there's a bunch of them in here. It's amazing.

So, Daryn, make sure you get a chance to walk on over here when you leave the studio.

KAGAN: You got it. And you enjoy it while you're down there. Leon, thanks a lot. And thanks for joining us on MORNING NEWS this week. It was great to have you along.
