Kevorkian won't be present for Supreme Court 'kooks'

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Dr. Jack Kevorkian called the U.S. Supreme Court justices "nine religious kooks" and said he would not be an observer Wednesday when the court considers two assisted suicide cases. Kevorkian, who as been present at the deaths of at least 45 people, is not involved in either case before the court. The court is considering bans on assisted suicide in New York and Washington state. Both laws were struck down in lower courts. On Friday -- in a case that does involve Kevorkian -- a federal judge in Detroit ruled that people do not have a constitutional right to assisted suicide.
