TURIN, Italy (CNN) --
A Russian cargo plane crashed while trying to land in
northern Italy Tuesday, killing at least three crew members
and injuring at least 13 other people. Seven people escaped
unhurt from the flaming wreckage of the Antonov 124 after it
went down near Turin.
The plane -- on a flight from Moscow -- was coming in to land
at Turin's Caselle airport when it crashed into a farmhouse.
The craft was carrying 24 people. Two people on the ground
and one from the plane were reported missing.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. The plane
appeared to have aborted a first landing attempt and stalled
as it prepared to make another approach to the
runway, a local official said.
The plane was making a stop
in Turin to pick up a load of cars before heading on to the
United Arab Emirates.
