The F/A-18 is a single-seat carrier-based aircraft, flown by both the Marine Corps and the Navy. The F-18 is the Navy's primary attack jet ("F/A" stands for fighter and attack). It can carry up to a 17,000-pound bombload.

It can carry 2,000-pound "penetrating" smart bombs (GBU 24) and new standoff JSOW weapons.
